Yesterday I sat down with the Director of Child Crisis AZ in the east valley. Following our discussion, I toured the building, which is not only a bit off the beaten path, but brilliantly decorated, equipped with a playground and alive with beautiful children and enthusiastic staff members of various kinds.
Below are the purposes of the meeting:
1) Get educated on the history, vision and mission of this organization.
2) Discuss how GCS can assist their case management efforts.
The Director is a humble man and seemed impressed with my passion. Like many others, he was inspired by the work of GCS as I explained to him what we do & what we're going to accomplish in the long-term. He gets it, and he sees the need. I haven't talked with anyone that I've shared our vision with who hasn't immediately laid back in their chair, lifted their head a bit and went "...oh yeah, there's definitely a need for that. That's a great idea!" That's where an atmospheric change occurs in the room and we get excited about working together.
I left there will some colorful reading material to absorb while I eat a grainy breakfast 🍽
We're looking to support CCA by providing referrals to their programs, granting CMs membership access to many of our social service maps and volunteering my services as a Navigator, when needed.
